  • Styling the Transitional Trend

    July 21, 2015

It may be with a heavy heart you finally accept the end of summer is nearing, even though it feels as though it only just arrived. There is no time to dwell, however, as autumn approaches and with a whole host of new materials and shapes to warrant good excuse for a serious shopping trip.

Styling the transition can be confusing, especially if you live somewhere where the weather changes more frequently than the traffic lights (we're looking at you UK). This is why we've put together a little guide/inspiration post to give you ideas on how to work trans-seasonal trends your own way. Let go of summer and embrace the new season of texture, layering and a staple jacket or two. For more ideas don't forget to give our transitional category a browse.

    Throwback everyday

Throwbacks aren't just reserved for instagram and Thursdays, embed throwback fashion into your daily look with retro pattern dresses and timeless jackets. Seventies retro is big at the moment for flares, silhouettes and plenty of suede. Raid your photo albums for old photos of family members for inspiration (and hair cringes). Who knew your gran was such a style icon?

    Swing or Shift

A day dress is the ultimate item when it comes to versatility. Throw over a leather jacket and boots for a nod to grunge or add wedges and little bag for girly garden party chic. The basics are there to dress yourself up or down according to occasion. Make your statement with a print which reflects your personality. Go paisley or patchwork, the choice really is yours. Swing or shift dress, you can accommodate your shape with a flattering fit. Layering is key, add jumper/boots/jacket accordingly.

    denim dreams

The original wardrobe veteran, we all love a bit of denim. It makes it's rounds again for the new season in the form of dungarees, jackets and jeans (of course). Take note from queen of denim Alexa Chung and work anything denim you can get your hands on with classic brogues and a satchel bag. Clash textures and work in other fabrics to tie together an all encompassed stylish look.

    Layer over

Don't be afraid to dabble in layering. If you normally shy away from flesh baring crops, try throwing one over a dress with boots and a fringed jacket for good measure.Think maxi skirts with jumpers to satisfy the comfort versus style debacle. A cut-out or fringed cape is your best friend when it comes to nailing this trend, versatile to don when making a statement as well as keeping you warm during those cold autumn work days.

  • Glamorous Instagram: EDIT

    July 17, 2015

Pinterest may be the traditional fashion app but Instagram is the new favourite for fashion inspiration. We took a look at our favourite styles to create the Glamorous Instagram: EDIT.

    Buton up2

The simple button down style has made a comeback this season, the classic look is a transitional must have to take your wardrobe from Summer to Autumn. The trend is an all-round favourite, whether your a fan or suede, denim or cord. This trending-now skirt is also available in a midi version.

Inject a little bohemian into your transitional styling with a little lace up. The criss-cross detailing is trendy way to update your dress collection. A tassel tie compliments the current fringe trend.

If you thought fringing would be a passing trend you would be wrong. The tassels are set to continue into the autumn/winter months. Suede is a seasonal favourite or update your favourite leather jacket with a little edge.

  • Glastonbury Fashion 2015

    July 1, 2015

The biggest UK festival has now been and gone last weekend and with it comes a whole heap of fashion ideas to get us excited about. Glastonbury brings all the high fashion flyers together as one to showcase the best ways to wear the famous festival trend.

The big names to top the fashion charts this year include Laura Whitmore, Daisy Lowe and returning favourite Alexa Chung. Gone are the days a simple tee and denim shorts combo sufficed, these celebrities have pushed the boundaries to create unique festival looks with a touch of personality to literally stand out from the crowd.

Daisy rocked two very Glamorous looks throughout the weekend. Her approach to our white lace maxi and rust tassel jacket made us want to revisit the double texture trend of last year. Her laid back approach compliments the festival style perfectly with dress down boots and natural hair.

In true model style Daisy showcased our new AW15 rust jumpsuit at the festival. To look this glam at a festival environment is a skill on its own but Daisy managed it effortlessly.

This jumpsuit speaks for itself with its flare leg design and low V cut we are sure we have another best seller on our hands over the next season.

Festival favourite Alexa Chung approaches the styling in her usual casual manner. With her trusty Hunter wellies, Alexa wore a simple set of jet black jeans and a somewhat winter looking jumper but still managed to look flawless.

We love her effortless style throughout the festival season, a definite go to girl for some festival inspiration.

Laura Whitmore had a 60s inspired look with an on trend A line shift dress. This little suede number is the perfect style to take you through the festival season and into the Autumn/Winter months. The transitional fabric is set to be big next season with the current favourite tassels overlapping as well.

We love Laura's personal touches to this style with the daisy bag and studded boots to add a bit of edge to an all-round girly outfit.

Florence Welch didn't only wow the crowds with her set but also with her fashion. The singer had a vintage inspired outfit with a Mexican twist.

The gold/mustard tones complimented her famous hair colour and stepped her away from the SS15 palette and into the transitional. Like Alexa a pair of skinny jeans and hunters finish the outfit.
